1. Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across workofficially.com. We are not there everywhere yet; Section 3 lists what we know about.
2. What we do
- A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page, so keyboard users can go straight to the main content.
- A visible focus outline on every link, button and form field when you move through the page with the keyboard.
- Text labels for buttons that show only an icon, so screen readers announce what they do.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Body text colours chosen to meet the WCAG AA contrast ratio on our light theme.
3. Known limitations
- Some orange accent text on our light background does not reach the AA contrast ratio. We are replacing it page by page.
- Charts on the status page and in the admin tools are drawn as images and may not have a full text equivalent.
- We have not yet checked every page in dark mode or at high zoom levels.
- Video calls depend on your browser's own camera and microphone controls; captions are not available.
- Content that members write or upload (profiles, portfolios, messages, files) is their own, and may not include text alternatives.
4. Tell us about a barrier
If something on WorkOfficially does not work for you, email [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will reply within 5 business days. If you need information from a page in another format, ask and we will provide it.
